Koosmann - Progress

I have refined my topics that I will cover in the book. I have narrowed it down to five topic.
1. Food
2. Fashion
3. Decorating
4. College and Dorm life
5. Tips and Advice

New Weekly Timeline:
Week 1:
1.     Create schedule

Week 2:
1.     Rework schedule.
2.     Write 4 vegetarian grocery lists.
3.     Write 4 carnivore grocery lists.
4.     Write 10 breakfast recipes.

Week 3:
1.     Write 10 lunch recipes.
2.     Write 10 dinner recipes.
3.     Write 5 snack recipes.
4.     Write intro to food section.

Week 4:
1.     Write food copy.
2.     Take food pictures.
3.     Think about layout.

Week 5:
1.     Pick fashion categories.
2.     Determine staples.
3.     Decide 12 outfits.

Week 6:
1.     Write fashion intro.
2.     Write all fashion copy.
3.     Take pictures if possible.


Week 7:
1.     Think about life in dorms and apartments.
2.     Make categories.
3.     Write copy.
4.     Research.

Week 8:
1.     What to do your first day of classes.
2.     What classes to take and when to take them.
3.     How to be a better student and get involved.
4.     How to survive midterms.
5.     Write all copy.

Week 9:
1.     Dorm life.
2.     Tips for a good freshman year.
3.     How to live with another person.
4.     What to do if you hate your roommate.
5.     Write copy and research. (put in InDesign).

Week 10:
1.     General tips.
2.     Staying sane.
3.     Have a side project.
4.     Write copy.
5.     Think/ write table of contents.

Week 11:
1.     Determine how many pages per section.
a.     Layout.
2.     Take photos (food, fashion, apartment, etc).

Week 12:
1.     Look into studios if need be.
2.     Take photos.
3.     Make 10 recipe cards.

Week 13:
1.     Take photos
2.     Finish recipe cards.
3.     Find place to get them printed.
4.     Start to sketch and layout book.

Week 14:
1.     Design book.
2.     Get recipe cards printed.

Week 15:
1.     Design book.
2.     Put recipes up on blog.

Week 16:
1.     Look into places to get book printed.
2.     Finalize book for printing.
3.     Get printed if possible.
4.     Put recipes up on blog.

Week 17:
1.     Update book if need be.
2.     Get printed.
3.     Make sure all recipe cards are printed.

Week 18:
1.     Have all recipes up on blog.
2.     Everything printed.

Week 19:
1.     Have book in hand.

  1. This looks really cool but we need to see visual references and I would suggest doing some design work along the way. We also need specific dates attached to your timeline.

  2. I think your timeline is much more specific and that's great to see, as well as being able to really know what your project will entail as the final product

  3. Your proposal is looking quite nice! I agree with Dolores; some reference images might be helpful. I think this is a really solid start, and overall I think this is a great idea for a capstone project!

  4. I'm really excited to see where this will go! The adjustment from high school to college was difficult for me as well, so I believe this project can have a really powerful impact! It might be interesting to interview other seniors or maybe even freshman during your research to get multiple unique perspectives.

  5. Hi Katie, sounds like a really fun idea. I think because you are taking examples from your own experiences and things you also find interest in that this should be a really great capstone project.
