Patricia Brooks - Why Design

I want to visually communicate my deepest thoughts. I feel design is a universal way of communication. I want people to see things differently, come up with new solutions, and create a better world. I like to create thought-provoking artwork and watch people’s reactions towards my artwork. For example, I created two digital profiles of myself a few quarters ago. One was normal with a simple style. The second one I look deeper in myself to find a meaning that people could relate to. A meaning that is personal but so true to the soul that we could all step in my shoes. I want people to look at my artwork and connect to it. I want my objective to be clear but I want to leave it open for the viewer to create his or her own meaning. I want my artwork to inspire people to better themselves, inspire others and make a better world.  One day I want to walk down a street and look up to see my design on a billboard. I want to be able to say, “I did that!” To concluded my thoughts I want to be a designer to help people.
