Design by Nature

I will start by putting it out there that design is innate to humans. Recently in Istanbul I happened upon an architectural museum that held artifacts from as far back as 12,000 BC. And what I found most interesting was how they not only created pots, plates, but there were also lines, shapes, and color on the tools people made thousands of years ago. Everything man creates has design to it, and therefore I will design everything I create. Ancient civilizations had this innate desire, and it’s within us all, and it feels like the most natural ability of a human.

Design breaks through language barriers, because it is and language of itself using color, shape and patterns. I feel like I communicate best with my words and my visuals. And this has inspired me when I look everywhere and see design. I design because it is natural to me and feels great to do. I produce something completely non-destrutive in a world of destruction. When I design, I create something for myself and for others to enjoy, learn from, or inspire them. As I design, I find myself in a process, a therapy, an exercise. I've grown up with the arts, and still they are important to me as I naturally look for art, beauty, and design everywhere in my life.
