I always loved Nancy Drew as a kid so I'm really excited to see where this will go. I'm not quite sure how setting a book in Didot will go...in my opinion the high contrast between strokes is a little bit difficult to read. But I think the teacups are an interesting idea! I'm not quite sure how they relate so I'm curious, but I'm sure the whole thing will come together soon enough!
The subject matter is very interesting and really makes me curious to see your final outcome! I think the illustration style you chose is totally appropriate as well which shows you know exactly what you are doing! I totally agree with Nicole on the typeface. It didn't look too distracting in your proposal, but i'm concerned how it would look when used in bodies of text.
The book looks really clean, and I hope you use that pale pink color like you had on your updated work. The type used is really difficult for me to read though, that may just be me but for children and long type it seems difficult to read
Your thoughts are very organized and the outcome is very clear. Maybe you could mock up the typeface and sample illustrations so we can see how the book covers would look together? I am also curious as to how the type will look with the imagery.
